Jabil is seeking a Lead Network Architecture Test Engineer who will take a technical leadership role owning the end to end test methodology for the design and development of validation test software with a focus on network hardware.
This role will include responsibilities such as architecture design reviews, development and code reviews, deploying code in a production environment, creation and review of validation test plans, and modifications to ensure changes to customer products or design can be made compatible with test requirements.
This will require acting as a technical point of escalation and alignment across engineering, quality, manufacturing operations and customer teams – building the cross functional networks needed to uphold the high-quality standards Jabil enforces as products, requirements and processes evolve.
What will you do? -
- Test Architecture and Strategy: Design and develop test systems architecture and procedures for hardware validation during the manufacturing processes establishing standards and methods for others to build to. This includes creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts to assess the functionality and performance of hardware components or devices with a focus on network devices or supporting rack hardware such as data switches, console switches, powershelves, and management servers.
- Test Software Development: Define, create, review, release, and maintain software automating the manufacturing test process. This software may include code for controlling test equipment, collecting and analyzing data, and generating test reports
- Test Sustaining: Support and maintenance for the manufacturing test software deployed at our production facilities, including the implementation of minor system configuration changes (new product variants or revisions), alterations to test requirements to fit changing customer needs, or new process initiatives.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of test procedures, specifications, and Infrastructure through enabling automatic documentation tooling and reviews.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including customers, development engineering teams, hardware engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality assurance personnel, to ensure alignment on testing requirements and quality standards
- Technical leadership and mentorship: Act as a subject matter expert for all network infrastructure testing requirements and validation methodology related to their automated testing.
Education:
- BS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline is preferred.
Experience:
- 12 years’ experience for candidates with a bachelor’s degree or 8 years with a master’s degree. Ideally in a role with combined duties in network infrastructure and software development as it relates to manufacturing test.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- A combination of Education, training and experience will be considered
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with network hardware interaction, validation, and configuration.
- Experience in 5+ of the core skills below is required, with expectation to expand skillset as workload requires:
- Programming/scripting languages: Python, BASH
- Linux development expertise with a solid understanding of its fundamentals: CentOS/Ubuntu
- Hardware and API solutions for controlling, managing and stressing cloud infrastructure devices (switches, servers, GPUs, storage devices): IPMI, Redfish, mprime, FIO, memtester, iperf, BER
- VM Management solutions such as vSphere/VMware, Proxmox, Openshift, Nutanix or similar
- Leading edge networking systems, hardware, software and protocols including but not limited to enterprise ethernet datacenter switching/routing L1, L2, and L3 (BGP, DHCP Relay, ECMP). Arista CloudVision is a plus.
- Switch incoming manufacturing environment upgrade and setup within ONIE using tools such as fw packages, swutil, bcm, innovium, or similar
- Experience with code versioning tools (Git preferred)
- Strong knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the complete software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Experience working in a multi-site and multi-cultural environments
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in EE/CE, Computer Science is preferred
- 15+ years of experience in the electronics manufacturing industry
- Experience with test architecture design and methodology
- Experience with hyperscale customers and environments
- Experience with all the core skills listed above
The pay range for this role is $126,100 - $227,000. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity. The anticipated close date of this job requisition is: October 27, 2026.
As part of the total rewards package, this position is eligible for a short-term incentive based on performance. In addition, Jabil offers benefits to enhance your health, wealth, and resilient self.
