Job Summary
The Automation Jr. Engineer I at Jabil, Inc. supports the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of automated systems and processes, contributing to improved efficiency and quality in manufacturing operations.
Job Responsibilities
* Assist in the design, development, and testing of automation solutions, including robotics, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
* Support the installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of automation equipment and machinery.
* Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
* Document automation systems, procedures, and test results accurately.
* Participate in the maintenance and repair of existing automated systems to ensure optimal performance.
* Conduct basic programming and configuration of automation components under supervision.
* Adhere to safety protocols and company standards in all automation activities.
* Perform root cause analysis for automation-related issues and propose solutions.
* Support training activities for production personnel on automated equipment.
* Stay updated with emerging automation technologies and industry best practices.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
* Basic understanding of PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens) and industrial control systems.
* Familiarity with robotics and automation principles.
* Knowledge of HMI/SCADA development is a plus.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
* Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.
* Basic experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is desirable.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities.
