Job Summary
The US Regional Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead and develop manufacturing engineering Jabil growth sites, focusing on optimizing large factor assembly processes to achieve operational excellence, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities
* **Leadership and Team Management:**
* Lead, mentor, and develop local plant sites teams of manufacturing engineers and engineering managers across various US-based large factor assembly sites.
* Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the engineering teams.
* Drive talent acquisition and retention strategies for the manufacturing engineering function
* **Process Optimization and Improvement:**
* Oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes for large factor assembly, ensuring adherence to best practices, safety standards, and quality requirements.
* Identify opportunities for process automation, lean manufacturing initiatives, and technological advancements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
* Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for complex manufacturing issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
* Develop and execute strategic plans for facility layout, design, and infrastructure development to accommodate large-factor assembly operations and future growth.
* Oversee the design, procurement, installation, and optimization of large-scale assembly equipment, tooling, and automation systems.
* Enable facilities for future warehouse automation, material handling systems, or industrial robotics.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes and technologies.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives in assembly processes, focusing on cost reduction, quality enhancement, and cycle time optimization.
* Manage capital projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation, ensuring on-time and within-budget completion.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards for facilities and manufacturing operations.
* **Strategic Planning and Execution:**
* Collaborate with senior management to define strategic objectives for manufacturing engineering within the large factor assembly domain.
* Develop and manage budgets for manufacturing engineering projects and initiatives.
* Ensure consistent application of engineering standards, tools, and methodologies across all regional sites.
* **Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:**
* Act as a key technical liaison between regional sites, corporate engineering, R&D, and other internal/external stakeholders.
* Communicate project status, challenges, and successes to executive leadership and relevant teams.
* Support new product introductions (NPI) by ensuring manufacturing processes are robust and scalable for large factor assemblies.]
* **Compliance and Quality Assurance:**
* Ensure all manufacturing engineering activities comply with Jabil's quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
* Drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing engineering function.
Job Qualifications
* **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. Master's degree preferred.
* **Experience:**
* 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong focus on large factor assembly processes (e.g., industrial equipment, complex machinery, large-scale electronics).
* 5+ years of experience in a engineering leadership role
* Proven track record of implementing lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and automation solutions.
* Experience with NPI and DFM (Design for Manufacturability) in a high-volume, complex assembly environment.
* **Skills:**
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate diverse teams.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
* Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
* In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials relevant to large factor assembly.
* Ability to travel frequently across US manufacturing sites.
* Proficient in CAD/CAM software and manufacturing simulation tools.
* Ability to travel frequently within the assigned region to support various Jabil sites (up to 75%). When not traveling, work location is required on-site at the home-site location.
