JOB SUMMARY
Director of Business Management owns and manages the Regional Business Management talent pool generally up to the Business Unit Manager or higher levels as needed and is accountable to Regional/Global Business Development Organization for effective recruitment, development and retention of highly talented Business Development professionals. Reviews business plans and approves all New Customer business quotations for the site(s) which he (or she) is assigned to. Assists with various business development activities (customer visits, presentations, etc.). Monitors financial performance and customer satisfaction within the site(s) and support the local Business Management team to meet or exceed Corporate and Customer expectations. Leads the strategic planning process of the site by defining current and future business requirements and target customer and industries.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Human Development and performance management at assigned site or region.
· Coach other Business Unit personnel in Jabil toolsets and assume leadership role in Jabil toolset development.
· Provide strong leadership and promote leadership development within Jabil’s Business Units.
· Use extensive Business Unit knowledge to support the human development process through job guidance and career planning.
· Be a resource for sourcing, hiring, training, staffing, and firing.
· Mentor other Business Unit resources with remote managers.
· Responsible for managing and reviewing the site or region forecasts and variance reviews with site management and corporate senior management.
· Manage the site/regional Business Development Team in developing financial and operational plans to assure alignment with Corporate and Customer strategic objectives and expectations. Responsible for high level review of all incoming business and managing the support team (both Business Development and Operations) to start up the business in the site.
· Sell the Jabil site/region to both internal and external customers by providing capabilities and tools.
· Directly responsible for formulating quotes for New Customers and approving quotes for existing customers within the site/region.
· Drive the strategic planning for the site or region and directly work with Jabil sector businesses to grow opportunities.
· May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
· Excellent communication skills
· Subject Matter expert for all activities related to managing the Business Unit
· Posses extensive knowledge of the Jabil organization, customers and market segment/industry as a whole(i.e. where to go and who to go to for information and results)
· Understanding of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of global business awareness/experience (e.g., taxation, laws, culture)
· Advanced concepts, practices and procedures of operational functions (e.g., manufacturing, supply chain, etc.)
· Extensive knowledge of total Jabil solutions available for offer
· Strong financial skill knowledge and aptitude (e.g., balance sheet, income statement, etc,)
· Jabil tools (Financial system, quote process, etc.)
· Knowledgeable in Electronic Manufacturing services industry, competitors, and labor markets
· Leadership/people-management skills
· Strong customer service skills and experience
· Proficient computer skills such as spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software
· Fundamental Human Resources knowledge helpful
· Strong knowledge of global and regional logistics operations and industry.
· Strong proficiency in determining logistics requirements to enable company’s business goals and objectives with ability to devise and implement strategy to achieve targets.
· Strong financial and analytical ability. Proficiency in managing business analytics to determine optimum company footprint.
· Strong knowledge of international direct and indirect taxes as well as global customs regimes.
· Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous productivity and cost reduction programs.
· Strong and convincing communication skills.
· Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor's Degree required.
· Masters Degree preferred.
· Degree in Engineering, Finance/Accounting, or Business Management preferred.
· Eight (8) to ten (10) years work-related experience required, preferably in Financial or Operations fields.
· Significant previous Business Unit Director (or equivalent job) work experience preferred.
· Minimum of eight (8) to (10) years management experience required.
· Or a combination of education, experience and/or training.
