How will you make an impact?
The Supplier Quality Engineering Technician supports the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) by assisting with audits of suppliers' manufacturing processes, verifying incoming part quality against specifications, and helping to resolve non-conforming materials. Key responsibilities include maintaining supplier quality documentation, analyzing data, interpreting technical drawings, supporting first-article inspections, and liaising between suppliers and internal teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with quality standards.
What will you do?
Incoming material inspection: Perform inspections, measurements, and functional tests on incoming electronic components (such as PCBs and PCBAs) and mechanical components to ensure they meet engineering specifications.
First-Article Inspection (FAI): Play a key role in the first-article inspection process, verifying that new or modified parts from suppliers meet design specifications.
Quality Control & Documentation: Help develop and maintain quality control plans, inspection protocols, and relevant documentation for supplier-provided materials.
Non-conformance management: Identify and document defects, manage non-conforming reports, and issue corrective actions to suppliers.
Problem-solving and root cause analysis: Investigate quality issues with suppliers to determine the root cause, using standard methodologies like 8D or 5 Whys. This drives continuous improvement and reduces future quality defects.
