JOB SUMMARY

Designs, develops, and maintains test procedures, tester hardware, and software for electronic circuit board production. Supports manufacturing operations through test optimization, failure analysis, and continuous improvement of test systems. Ensures test processes are efficient, reliable, and aligned with product design requirements from development through production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review circuit board designs to ensure compliance with testability requirements.
• Support manufacturing through failure analysis, tester debugging, and reduction of intermittent failures and equipment downtime.
• Develop testing strategies and documentation from product design phase through initial production.
• Generate reports and perform analysis of test data; provide recommendations and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with customers to review test equipment designs, data, and RMA issues.
• Design and oversee the fabrication of testing equipment, fixtures, and control systems.
• Direct and coordinate engineering activities related to development, procurement, installation, and calibration of test instruments and equipment.
• Define test conditions, sequences, and operational phases.
• Oversee operational, functional, and performance testing activities.
• Execute moderately complex engineering test assignments for standard and custom devices.
• Analyze and interpret test data; prepare technical reports for engineering and management teams.
• Develop or utilize software and hardware tools to perform equipment and product testing.
• Maintain and enhance test methodologies in alignment with established standards, including ISO and QS requirements.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering preferred; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 0-1 years of experience

Technical Skills

• Strong ability to analyze and interpret technical data and documentation.
• Experience with electronic testing, circuit board diagnostics, and test system development.
• Familiarity with test equipment design, calibration, and maintenance.

Communication Skills

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, professional journals, and regulatory documents.
• Strong written communication skills, including report writing and procedure documentation.
• Effective presentation skills for communication with cross-functional teams, customers, and management.

Mathematical & Analytical Skills

• Proficiency in probability, statistical analysis, and engineering mathematics (geometry and trigonometry).
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as ratios, percentages, and proportions to practical applications.

Problem-Solving & Reasoning

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Skilled in interpreting complex technical instructions and managing both abstract and concrete variables.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Frequent walking and handling of test equipment, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Extensive use of computer monitors requiring strong close-vision capability.
• Work environment includes both office and manufacturing floor settings.
• Noise levels range from low to moderate depending on location.
