JOB SUMMARY

The Industrial Engineer I supports the Industrial Engineering function in planning, designing, implementing, and managing integrated production and service delivery systems. This role focuses on improving efficiency, optimizing workflows, and ensuring effective utilization of production equipment and personnel to meet performance, quality, and cost objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and continuously improve daily quality and efficiency performance for assigned production areas.
  • Design, specify, and support procurement of production tooling, equipment, and workstations.
  • Coordinate facility layouts and workstation move activities.
  • Prepare time estimates for proposed projects and evaluate production time factors.
  • Optimize changeover processes by implementing standardized setups where possible.
  • Ensure machine maintenance activities are completed according to schedule.
  • Reduce machine-generated scrap by analyzing machine performance data and implementing corrective actions.
  • Improve manual assembly quality by monitoring data and driving corrective actions to reduce scrap.
  • Analyze workforce utilization, facility layouts, and operational data (e.g., cost, process flow, production schedules) to optimize efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and security standards.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field required.
  • 0–1 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering environments preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Basic understanding of Industrial Engineering tools and methodologies, including:
    • Work measurement
    • Process mapping
    • Facility and workstation design
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD preferred.

Analytical & Continuous Improvement

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to support continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction efforts.

Business & Operational Understanding

  • Basic understanding of production processes, facility capabilities, and workflow optimization.
  • Awareness of how operational improvements support broader business goals.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in team environments and collaborate across functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work is performed in both office and manufacturing floor environments.
  • Requires frequent movement between production areas and workstations.
  • Noise levels range from low to moderate depending on location.
