Software Development Program Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Software Development Program Manager will facilitate and lead strategic initiatives to develop and implement software solutions that enhance internal and external processes. Provide expert level knowledge and guidance to multi-functional development teams. Provide full accountability for project budgets, schedules, project management, and performance requirements for enterprise level projects. This position requires both Program Management and Software Development skillsets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Software Development

• Develop applications using various development tools and programming languages.
• Develop and maintain reports using PowerBI and similar tools.
• Lead collaboration with functional managers and sector leads to establish and maintain technical standards and guidelines for their area.
• Propose new technologies that may be beneficial to current and upcoming project work.
• Facilitate the alignment of solutions within the overall Technology Services strategy.
• Design solutions at an Enterprise level with minimal guidance.
• Assure best practices are defined and followed.
• Drive consistency across applications and projects wherever possible.
• Act as an escalation for technical issues and support.
• Identify and communicate risks to the business.
• Perform and/or support other duties and responsibilities of team members as required.

Program Management

• Define concise goals and objectives within a project framework.
• Develop and own program and project plans, establishing program strategies and project road maps with clear dates and deliverables.
• Accountable for overall program success - including application development, schedule, quality, and scope management.
• Identify creative ways to implement corrective actions quickly and effectively.
• Provide regular program updates to the peer team, relevant departments, stakeholders, project champions, and various levels of leadership as needed.
• Facilitate communication and education for all interested parties as deemed necessary.
• Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
• Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• Expert level knowledge developing applications using various platforms such as Visual Studio, Hangfire, Angular, Swagger, SQL Server
• Expert level knowledge of programming languages such as C++, C#, HTML, Typescript
• Experience with database management such as SQL or Dataverse.
• Experience with AWS solutions.
• Experience with PowerBI and/or other reporting software.
• Experience managing multiple programs simultaneously.
• Ability to effectively communicate and present information to management.
• Demonstrate high performance orientation, detail orientation, and sound judgment.
• Demonstrate ability to build and leverage relationships, implement change, and manage projects.
• Proficiency in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), and e-mail skills required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer programming, data science, or equivalent required
• Minimum five (5) years work-related experience required in software development and program management or related discipline.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
