Job Summary
Manage, control, and direct all inventory control functions related to server kitting operations. This includes oversight of stockroom and Inventory Analysts with a primary focus on server-side material availability. Provide exceptional support to internal customers, ensure consistency across shifts, drive continuous improvement in kitting processes, and serve as the escalation point for operational issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership and Management Responsibilities
Recruitment and Retention
Recruit, interview, and hire Supervisors and staff within Inventory Control and Server Kitting.
Define criteria for position candidates and partner with recruiting teams.
Coach and mentor staff in hiring and retention practices.
Monitor turnover and implement retention strategies.
Employee and Team Development
Identify strengths and development needs of team members on an ongoing basis.
Develop and validate training curriculum for server kitting and inventory control processes.
Mentor and coach supervisors to deliver excellence in service and operational consistency.
Build succession plans for leadership roles within server kitting operations.
Performance Management
Establish clear, measurable goals and objectives for individuals and teams (operational KPIs, accuracy, timeliness, training compliance, attendance, and continuous improvement).
Provide coaching and counseling based on feedback and performance data.
Drive accountability across shifts to ensure leadership performance meets expectations.
Conduct timely and professional evaluations.
Recognize achievements and manage performance fairly and consistently.
Communication
Lead regular communication forums to align all shifts on process standards, updates, and expectations.
Communicate effectively in verbal and written form, adapting style to audience.
Encourage input, feedback, and collaboration across shifts and functions.
Functional Management Responsibilities
Business Strategy and Direction
Develop and execute an inventory control and kitting strategy aligned to site and corporate goals.
Provide regular updates to senior operations leadership on execution and results.
Serve as the escalation point for all server kitting operations issues.
Cost and Resource Management
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, eliminate waste, and reduce cost.
Monitor departmental cost trends and implement efficiency improvements.
Provide accurate and timely forecasts for resource and labor needs across all shifts.
Server Kitting Operations
Oversee all shifts of server kitting operations to ensure timely and accurate material delivery to production.
Track, monitor, and report server kitting KPIs to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.
Drive consistency of process and performance across shifts and leadership teams.
Implement corrective actions and improvement initiatives to strengthen quality and delivery.
Technical Management Responsibilities
Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, metrics tracking, and root cause problem solving.
Ensure SOPs and work instructions are effective, efficient, and standardized across all shifts.
Lead and coordinate physical inventories and cycle counts as needed.
Share best practices across teams and sites to build scalable improvements.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety rules, and quality standards.
Safeguard sensitive and confidential information.
Job Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong knowledge of warehouse, inventory control, and kitting operations, with emphasis on server or high-volume manufacturing environments.
Ability to analyze data, monitor KPIs, and drive accountability to operational results.
Strong leadership, coaching, and change management skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to manage escalations and resolve issues quickly.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP/WMS systems.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum five (5) years of inventory control or warehouse management experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or management role.
Experience overseeing multi-shift operations strongly preferred.
