Job Summary**
The Senior BIOS Engineer at Jabil, Inc. will be responsible for the design, development, and validation of BIOS firmware for various hardware platforms, ensuring optimal performance, stability, and compatibility.
Job Responsibilities**
* Design, develop, and debug BIOS/UEFI firmware for new product introductions and existing platforms.
* Work closely with hardware design teams to define BIOS requirements and specifications.
* Implement and optimize BIOS features, including bootloaders, ACPI, power management, and device initialization.
* Perform root cause analysis and resolution of complex BIOS-related issues.
* Develop and execute BIOS validation test plans and procedures.
* Collaborate with software teams to ensure seamless integration of operating systems and applications with the BIOS.
* Participate in code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
* Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in BIOS/UEFI development.
* Document BIOS designs, specifications, and test results.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in BIOS/UEFI firmware development.
* Strong proficiency in C and assembly language programming.
* In-depth understanding of PC architecture, x86 processors, chipsets, and peripheral interfaces (PCIe, USB, SATA, etc.).
* Experience with UEFI architecture and EDKII development environment.
* Familiarity with various debugging tools (e.g., ITP, JTAG, serial debuggers).
* Knowledge of operating system boot processes (Windows, Linux).
* Experience with hardware bring-up and troubleshooting.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
