Job Description

The Lead BMC Core Validation Engineer is responsible for owning the validation strategy and execution for Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) firmware across the product lifecycle. This role works closely with BMC development teams to ensure firmware quality, functionality, and reliability through comprehensive validation planning, execution, and automation.

As a technical leader, this role defines validation scope, drives test architecture, and ensures alignment with sprint deliverables and product milestones. The engineer is expected to lead automation initiatives, improve validation efficiency, and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams across regions (e.g., Taipei and Austin).

Key Responsibilities

• Work with BMC developers to understand sprint content and schedules
• Design test plans to validate OpenBMC sprints
• BMC test case creation
• Hands on testing and debug of new firmware features
• Automation of known-good test procedures
• Automation code review and maintenance
• Documentation of test procedures and automation usage instructions
• Status reporting
• End of sprint summaries
• CL/CI activities

Job Requirements

• 10+ years of industry experience with BMC development/validation
• Automation expertise
  • Python or similar
  • Robot Framework
  • Jenkins
  • Selenium or similar
• Work with minimal supervision 
• Good written and verbal communication skills (English)
• Good problem-solving skills
