SUMMARY
The automation training specialist II is a person in charge of providing, hiring and creating technical training on the processes and equipment of Jabil operations for both engineers and technicians. This position is responsible for the creation of procedures when warranted oriented towards having the entire team accessing the critical knowledge for the proper functioning of the manufacturing processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• identify training needs in the technical and engineering team.
• Create, Hire, or provide necessary training to the technical and engineering team.
• Create or contract the creation of educational and audio-visual content to facilitate learning.
• Maintain a database of specific and critical knowledge for the optimal functioning of operations (courses, one-point lessons, manuals, etc.)
• Drafting work instructions for equipment maintenance.
• Hire or create didactic training material using real and/or practical cases.
Deliver classroom and hands-on training in automation topics (PLC, HMI, SMT, etc.).
• Creation of exams for the certification of personnel for critical tasks.
• Responsible for specialized training and induction of automation staff upon entry.
• Formulate learning objectives for the automation team.
• In collaboration with supervisors create and/or modify Curricula.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Technologist and/or Mechatronics, Electronic or Electrical Engineer. At least 3 years’ experience as maintenance technician, Automation or manufacturing environments (preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional technical trainer course (desirable). Knowledge of electrical and pneumatic controls. Knowledge of PLC and Vision System programming (desirable).
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Proficiency in English language. Ability to speak, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to walk, and to lift and carry PC’s and test equipment weighing up to 15lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and use of computer monitor screens a great deal of time.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Individual’s primary workstation is located in the office area. The noise level in this environment ranges from low to moderate.
