OVERVIEW

Jabil is a global leader in engineering, supply chain, and advanced manufacturing solutions, with more than 100 locations worldwide. We're opening a new 300,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Prince George, VA, that will support the growing energy infrastructure industry.

As a Quality Inspector you will inspect critical power management and control systems used in data centers, utilities, and industrial power applications. You'll join a fast-growing team in a modern facility where safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement are key. Production begins in Fall 2026, creating exciting opportunities for career growth in a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment.

Summary:

The Quality Inspector II is responsible for performing advanced inspections of mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical assemblies to ensure products meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. This role conducts in-process, final, and pre-shipment inspections of complex large form-factor systems, identifies nonconformances, supports root cause investigations, and serves as a key quality resource within the manufacturing environment.

Starting Pay Rate: $25.00/hr. 
1st Shift: 


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed in-process, final, and pre-shipment inspections of mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical assemblies.

  • Verify proper assembly and installation of valves, fittings, hoses, tubing, torque-critical fasteners, electrical connections, wiring, and system components.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, specifications, BOMs, and quality documentation to determine product acceptance criteria.

  • Select and perform appropriate inspection methods, including first article inspections, sampling plans, and 100% inspections.

  • Identify, document, and communicate defects, nonconformances, and workmanship concerns.

  • Investigate quality issues, determine potential causes, and work with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to support corrective actions.

  • Verify process compliance and ensure products meet customer, engineering, and quality requirements.

  • Conduct final audits and quality verification activities prior to product shipment.

  • Utilize measuring devices, gauges, inspection tools, and manufacturing systems to document inspection results.

  • Maintain accurateinspection records and quality documentation.

  • Assist in training and supporting Quality Inspector I employees on inspection methods, workmanship standards, and quality procedures.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, safety, and process effectiveness.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Adhere to all company safety, quality, environmental, and security policies and procedures.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years of quality inspection, manufacturing, assembly, or related experience required.

  • Visual quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment required.

  • Experience inspecting complex mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical assemblies preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly documentation, specifications, and quality standards.

  • Experience utilizing measuring tools, gauges, inspection equipment, and manufacturing systems.

  • Ability to identify defects, analyze quality issues, and support corrective action activities.

  • Basic computer skills and ability to work within quality and manufacturing software systems.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for up to 10-12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Mechanical lifting devices and team lifts may be utilized as needed.

The hourly pay range for this role is $17.98 - $32.36. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
