How will you make an impact?-

A self-motivated and solutions-based individual that understands the world of logistics from paperwork to shipping procedures and receiving incoming goods.  Position is based in Ottawa, on site.

What will you do? -  

  • Prepare shipping documentation, CBSA export documents as required, packing slips and commercial/customs invoices

  • Coordinate with Jabil freight forwarders to pick up shipments

  • Take care of processing carrier invoices, assign costs centers/internal order numbers, ensuring they are ready for approval by the cost center owners

  • Facilitate the shipping of products from one destination to another

  • Receive products and coordinate internal delivery

  • Continually interfaces with all other departmental users within the site operations

  • Ensures shipping records are properly maintained and maintain inventory for Shipping / receiving requirements

  • Streamline shipping and transportation processes, and Identify opportunities for enhancements

  • Understand standardized departmental functions, processes, procedures, and systems.

  • Evaluate business systems and troubleshoot areas of concern

  • Evaluate and monitor the current processes and tools to determine their ability to meet the department’s business needs

  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor, Record all SDS for chemicals

  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy

  • Assist Customs Broker with clearance issues

  • Allocate freight charges as required

  • Overall problem solving for inbound/outbound shipments

  • Maintain an organized workspace

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

How will you get here? – 

Education: Minimum required High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: 2 years of related experience and / or Education and Training are required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:  

  • Advanced PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft software packages (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Ability to read and write a variety of correspondences, reports, policies and procedure manuals and display strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Demonstrates effective communication skills, capable of managing multiple projects, has strong training and interpersonal skills, and is highly organized.

  • Exhibits positivity, passion, integrity, and responsibility.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Able to manage multiple projects, requests and assignments on a routine basis.

  • Ability to manage related projects from conception to implementation.

  • Ability to use small hand tools.

  • May be required to sit, stand or walk regularly and occasionally lift, up to 50 lbs.

  • Specific vision requirements include reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen frequently.

  • Support Facilities and Security as back-up when required

  • Remain an active member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Preferably 3 – 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing or warehouse environment

  • Excellent display of strong customer service
