Job Summary

Jabil, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Software Development Intern to support application development initiatives within the Materials Department. This role provides hands-on experience building and enhancing web-based solutions that support materials management and manufacturing processes. The intern will work with modern front-end technologies and relational databases to help improve data visibility, efficiency, and decision-making across materials operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain web application features using Angular (core) and TypeScript.
  • Collaborate with backend services and databases, writing and optimizing SQL queries to support materials-related data and reporting needs.
  • Assist in designing and implementing user-friendly interfaces for internal tools used by the Materials team.
  • Debug and resolve application issues across the front-end and data layers.
  • Document code, technical designs, and basic user guides for developed features.
  • Support the integration of new application functionality with existing systems and data sources.
  • Work closely with materials analysts, engineers, and other developers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Job Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
  • Strong programming skills in at least one object-oriented language (e.g., Python, C++, C#).
  • Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and software development principles.
  • Knowledge of database concepts (SQL or NoSQL) is an advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
