How Will You Make an Impact?

Jabil is seeking a Test Engineer IV (Lead Test Engineer) to join our Advanced Compute team in Northern Kentucky. In this role, you will support the development, integration, testing, and continuous improvement of advanced AI/ML, GPGPU, server, networking, and storage platforms within a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will play a critical role in improving product quality, system performance, and manufacturing efficiency through failure analysis, automation, and test engineering leadership.

This position is highly impactful to both customer satisfaction and operational excellence, supporting cutting-edge compute hardware and infrastructure technologies used in enterprise and AI-driven environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong Linux expertise, server/network troubleshooting experience, scripting knowledge, and a deep understanding of compute hardware systems and manufacturing concepts.

What Will You Do?

  • Design, develop, and maintain test procedures, tester hardware, and software for advanced compute and server platforms.

  • Perform detailed failure analysis and root cause investigations on hardware and software-related issues.

  • Troubleshoot complex server, networking, and storage systems in a manufacturing environment.

  • Develop and maintain Bash and Python scripts to automate testing and data collection processes.

  • Analyze system and manufacturing data using Excel and Power BI to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support AI/ML, GPGPU, and hardware accelerator-based server and storage platforms during integration and production.

  • Configure, troubleshoot, and support networking systems including switches, routers, IP configurations, LAN/WAN environments, and Layer 3 networking.

  • Support optical networking technologies including transceivers, fiber optics, and fiber optic hardware types.

  • Utilize Linux command line tools and train team members on Linux fundamentals and scripting basics.

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams to resolve technical challenges and improve product quality.

  • Lead and mentor test engineers, technicians, and support staff while promoting technical excellence and accountability.

  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and ensure readiness for manufacturing and test operations.

  • Apply LEAN manufacturing concepts and quality methodologies including Yield, GRR, DPPM, and statistical analysis techniques.

  • Interpret test logs, JSON files, and software outputs to identify trends and improve system performance.

  • Present technical findings, test data, and improvement recommendations in meetings with internal teams and customers.

  • Drive continuous improvement through process optimization, automation, and cost reduction initiatives.

  • Maintain compliance with all company safety, security, and quality policies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline preferred.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in hardware testing, failure analysis, or test engineering within a manufacturing or mass production environment.

  • Experience troubleshooting server computers, networking systems, and compute hardware platforms.

  • Experience with Linux environments, Bash scripting, Python scripting, and test automation.

  • Experience with manufacturing concepts, LEAN methodologies, and quality metrics.

  • Experience presenting technical data and leading technical discussions in English.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced Linux command-line expertise.

  • Familiarity with Bash scripting, Python, JSON files, and software development concepts.

  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and compute server functionality.

  • Knowledge of networking systems including switches, routers, optical fibers, transceivers, IP configurations, and Layer 3 networking.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and statistical data analysis skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI for data analysis and reporting.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to walk, and to lift and carry PC’s and test equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and use of computer monitor screens a great deal of time.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office setting, with some time spent each day on the manufacturing floor. The noise level in this environment ranges from low to moderate. Required PPE for the manufacturing area includes composite toed shoes, hearing protection, protective eyewear, and an ESD vest. The manufacturing floor is modernized, climate-controlled, and well-lit.
