The IQC Technician I at Jabil Inc. is responsible for performing routine incoming quality control inspections and tests on materials, components, and products to ensure they meet specified quality standards and requirements. This role supports manufacturing operations by preventing non-conforming materials from entering the production process.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of incoming materials, components, and sub-assemblies according to established procedures, specifications, and drawings.
Utilize various measurement tools and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators to verify product characteristics.
Document inspection results accurately and completely in designated quality records, logs, and databases.
Identify and segregate non-conforming materials, initiate non-conformance reports (NCRs), and assist in the initial investigation of quality issues.
Communicate inspection findings to relevant departments, including purchasing, engineering, and production.
Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and ensure calibration status of inspection equipment.
Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and quality management system procedures (e.g., ISO, AS9100).
Assist in the training of new team members on basic inspection techniques and procedures as needed.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to incoming quality processes.
Job Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality control environment, preferably in an electronics or medical device industry.
Basic understanding of quality control principles and practices.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Proficiency in using basic measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, rulers).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to lift and move materials up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
