Job Summary

The Industrial Engineer I plays a crucial role in optimizing Jabil's manufacturing processes. This entry-level position focuses on identifying inefficiencies, implementing process improvements, and contributing to the overall productivity and cost-effectiveness of operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct time studies, work sampling, and other industrial engineering analyses to identify process bottlenecks and areas for improvement.

  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistent and efficient production.

  • Participate in the design and optimization of production layouts, workstations, and material flow systems.

  • Collect and analyze production data to track performance metrics, identify trends, and support decision-making.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain, to implement process changes.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support the evaluation and selection of new equipment and technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.

  • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings, recommendations, and project progress.

  • Contribute to cost reduction efforts through process optimization and waste elimination.

  • Adhere to all company safety guidelines and procedures.


Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with industrial engineering tools and techniques (e.g., time studies, process mapping, lean manufacturing).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Ability to interpret and analyze data to draw actionable conclusions.

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and principles.

  • Prior internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
