Jabil is seeking a Lead Maintenance Tech to work in Byhalia, MS. 

How will you make an impact?
As the Lead Maintenance Technician, you will work under limited supervision, coordinate daily activities of Facilities Maintenance team members and oversee moderately complex maintenance on a wide variety of building and facility equipment, fixtures, and systems.

What will you do?

  • Develop, motivate and challenge all Facilities Maintenance Team Members to perform to their full potential through direct and timely formal and informal feedback.

  • Ascertain materials required for assigned projects and ensure timely requests for the purchase of those materials. Minimize over ordering, to ensure cost effectiveness.

  • Ensure Facilities Maintenance Team Members are thoroughly trained, certified and perform their assigned functions.

  • Inform or instruct Facilities Maintenance Team Members of any deviations or changes.
    Ensure that assigned work areas are kept clean and organized in order to minimize hazards.

  • Perform electrical, painting, and/or carpentry repairs of fixtures and equipment on company premises.

  • Oversee installation, relocation and reinstallation of new and/or existing equipment.

  • Maintain and repair production support air compressors, air dryers, and vacuum systems.

  • Perform simple engineering calculations for proposed new equipment.

  • Update mechanical prints when changes mandate.

  • Maintain Facilities related equipment & tooling by ensuring the Facilities Maintenance team performs maintenance & repair on the following as required:

  • Dock Levelers & Doors, Dock Locks, Interior & Exterior Man Doors, Forklifts, Scissor Lifts,

  • Maintenance carts, Facility Lighting, Plumbing fixtures, Receptacle covers, Safety Railing, Parking lot, and other similar areas as assigned.

  • Submit proposals and recommendations to department supervisor for upgrades or changes.

  • Maintain maintenance records for each piece of equipment responsible for.

  • Troubleshoot and conduct periodic inspections to determine maintenance work required.

  • Act as a liaison for the Facilities Maintenance team with internal customers and vendors.

  • Follow Preventive Maintenance Instructions and ensure that the records for such are properly documented.

  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.

  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

How will you get here?

Education and Experience:

  • High School Degree or equivalent required.  Associates preferred.

  • At least 5 years of experience working in a Manufacturing or similar type environment.

  • A minimum of 1 year of Lead experience is preferred.

  • Technical certifications are strongly preferred, for example HVAC/Electrical/Industrial/Maintenance.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong Communication Skills both verbal and written.

  • Use of basic hand tools and equipment.

  • Understanding of safety practices and requirements.

  • Experience utilizing Windows Products (Excel, Word and Outlook).

  • Experience taking apart machines and putting them back together.
