JOB SUMMARY
In this role, you will help shape value-driven engineering solutions for customer products ranging from straightforward to highly complex designs. You will evaluate existing electrical and embedded hardware architectures, identify thoughtful optimization opportunities, and translate technical insights into practical, business-aware recommendations. Working collaboratively across engineering, supply chain, and commercial teams, you will contribute to resolving technical challenges, supporting project milestones, and helping deliver balanced solutions that improve cost, manufacturability, quality, and performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Operate within the Jabil Value Engineering Team, as technical specialist for design optimization with strong focus on electrical components, sub-circuits, functions and complete designs.
• Develop and assess alternative embedded hardware design concepts for complex applications, with a focus on value, feasibility, and long-term product sustainability.
• Review and optimize electronic circuits across a broad range of design aspects, providing well-founded recommendations with a high degree of autonomy.
• Partner with system architects and cross-functional stakeholders to refine requirements, align on architecture, and translate findings into actionable design improvement proposals.
• Conduct product teardown and reverse engineering activities to better understand design intent, technical trade-offs, and improvement opportunities.
• Engage constructively with component suppliers and manufacturing partners to explore technical alternatives and support informed decision-making.
• Communicate technical considerations clearly to customers and internal stakeholders, integrating feedback into balanced and effective optimization proposals.
• Contribute to component engineering initiatives such as alternate sourcing, value analysis, and cost optimization where relevant.
• Support additional engineering or project-related activities as needed to meet business and customer objectives.
This role is an individual contributor position and does not include direct people management responsibilities.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• Solid understanding of relevant industry, sector-specific, regulatory, and product safety standards applicable to electrical and embedded hardware design.
• Broad practical knowledge across one or more electrical engineering disciplines, such as power supply design, digital and analog electronics, RF design, or related areas.
• Experience applying core development methods and tools, including component derating, DFMEA, laboratory equipment, and simulation environments.
NON-TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• Builds credibility through expertise, collaboration, and the sharing of best practices.
• Communicates clearly and professionally in English with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Works effectively within global, cross-functional teams and contributes positively to shared objectives.
• Provides guidance and technical leadership in selected workstreams or engineering activities.
• Evaluates project scope and risk thoughtfully while helping define practical milestones and delivery plans.
• Contributes to structured product development processes, including stage-gate or comparable lifecycle frameworks.
• Supports the growth of less experienced engineers through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
• Participates in cross-functional design reviews and may lead selected aspects of electrical engineering review activities.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in embedded hardware design, electrical engineering, value engineering, or related discipline.
