The Supplier Quality Engineer serves as the technical lead for supplier quality, partnering with manufacturers to resolve quality issues, monitor supplier performance, and ensure compliance with quality standards. This role supports manufacturing excellence by developing effective inspection processes, providing technical guidance to Receiving Inspection, and driving continuous improvement across the supply base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the driving force behind supplier quality, ensuring purchased components consistently meet quality, reliability, and manufacturing requirements across multiple product lines.
  • Lead the resolution of critical supplier issues, partnering with suppliers and cross-functional teams to implement robust corrective actions that prevent recurrence and protect production.
  • Elevate supplier performance by analyzing quality metrics, identifying improvement opportunities, and driving continuous improvement through data-driven decision making.
  • Develop and strengthen strategic supplier partnerships through supplier evaluations, audits, and performance reviews that foster accountability, collaboration, and long-term success.
  • Own incoming quality processes by defining inspection plans and methods, maintaining SAP inspection documentation, and supporting receiving inspection teams with technical expertise.
  • Influence supplier strategy by supporting supplier qualification, certification, and selection initiatives that improve quality, reduce risk, and create value across customer programs.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and customers to proactively address quality, cost, and manufacturability challenges before they impact production.
  • Champion a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement, helping ensure every component delivered supports operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality or Manufacturing or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Experience working with suppliers to resolve quality issues, conduct supplier audits, and drive supplier performance improvements.
  • Hands on knowledge of inspection methods, quality tools, and statistical techniques (e.g., FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, 8D, PPAP, Six Sigma, Lean).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Professional proficiency in English and Hungarian languages
