Establish and promote the maintenance of a safe, accident-free, healthy work environment that is compliant with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.  Develop and maintain environmental, health and safety policies, procedures and employee communications regarding safety guidelines.  Train employees in EHS compliant workplace practices. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Develops and implements general environmental and safety policies and procedures to be followed by company personnel in compliance with local, state, regional, and national safety and health rules and regulations. 

·         Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention and safety programs. 

·         Lays out manufacturing workspace to optimize safe working environment. 

·         Formulates appropriate environmental, health and safety policies and guidelines. 

·         Inspects or tours facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards. 

·         Recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated. 

·         Keeps managers and employees alerted as to the hazards of working with toxic fumes, dangerous chemicals, and any other hazardous substances. 

·         Develops training programs and communications to increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness. 

·         Participates in accident/injury investigations. 

·         Maintains environmental, health and safety files and records. 

·         May report to management on health and safety issues and concerns. 

·         Conduct comprehensive risk assessments with a cross-functional team to evaluate and mitigate risk throughout site. 

·        Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific emergency response plans (ERPs) in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations 

·        Oversee the proper labeling, segregation, and handling of hazardous chemicals and waste in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and coordinate hazardous waste disposal activities. 

·        Collaborate with cross-functional team to gather evidence, conduct interviews and analyze data related to incidents. 

·        Develop and implement electrical safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and NFPA-70E and other electrical standards. 

·         Supports all company environmental, safety and quality programs and initiatives. 

·         May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

·         Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental related discipline. 

·         2+ years of experience in EHS in Manufacturing environment  

·         Or a combination of education, experience and/or training.
