JOB SUMMARY

Supports Mechanical Engineering and Test teams by executing laboratory test activities, maintaining lab equipment, and ensuring accurate and timely delivery of test data. This role is responsible for hands-on setup, operation, and troubleshooting of mechanical test systems to support product development, validation, and manufacturing readiness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and assemble test samples, fixtures, and test setups according to engineering requirements.
  • Execute mechanical tests in accordance with defined procedures, specifications, and standards.
  • Install and configure instrumentation (sensors, gauges, data acquisition systems) for testing.
  • Operate and monitor lab equipment to ensure accurate and repeatable test execution.
  • Record, document, and organize test data, logs, and results in a timely and structured manner.
  • Assist engineers in test setup design, debugging, and failure analysis activities.
  • Perform equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Support NPI, EVT/DVT/PVT build validation, and reliability testing activities.
  • Maintain lab workspace, tools, and equipment to ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with Jabil safety (EHS), quality standards, and operational procedures.
  • Support cross-functional teams (ME, Quality, Manufacturing, Validation) as required.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Basic understanding of:
    • Mechanical engineering principles (mechanics, materials, structures)
    • Test methodologies and validation processes
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Mechanical test equipment (e.g., load frames, vibration, thermal chambers)
    • Measurement tools (calipers, gauges, sensors)
    • 3D printer.
  • Ability to:
    • Read engineering drawings, schematics, and test procedures
    • Perform basic data analysis (Excel or similar tools)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
  • Good documentation and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and quality mindset
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams

NON-TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

REASONING ABILITY
With ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to develop mathematical models of physical reality and solve them, then implement the results.

COMMUNICATION ABILITY

Cooperates with internal and external development teams and stakeholders for all mechanical concept, execution activities with minimal supervision on the most complex projects or portfolio. Could figure out the best approach and practice during the activities and create playbook or lesson learnt after that.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree / Diploma in
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Or related technical field
  • 1–3 years of experience in:
  • Mechanical lab, validation lab, or manufacturing/test environment (fresh graduates with lab experience acceptable)

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Regular business hours.  Some additional hours may be required.
  • Travel requirements: Domestic.
  • Climate controlled office environment during normal business hours.
