JOB SUMMARY

Inspects and measures incoming material ensuring the quality and compliance to material specifications and/or standards as applicable. Works under general supervision with a high level of efficiency, integrity and enthusiasm, while striving to achieve excellence in all endeavors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform incoming inspection of materials, components, and finished products as applicable.
  • Follow established inspection procedures and plans as applicable
  • Understands and interprets part specifications.
  • Document inspection results and enter data into computer systems or part folders as necessary.
  • Measures critical characteristics of incoming material using specialized equipment and tools.
  • Escalates issues and quality trends to department leadership
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve quality issues
  • Identify and report non-conforming products and materials
  • Manages material flow through the Incoming Inspection area in such a way that good and non-conforming material is clearly identified, and material moves quickly in and out of the area.  
  • Helps manage the MRB cage.
  • Performs measurement system studies and measurement evaluations under engineering guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance inspection processes and procedures
  • Trains other incoming personnel as needed.
  • Foster good morale, a proactive and positive culture within the workcell QA Team.
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company's safety policy.
  • Support to all Safety, Health and Environment (EHS) programs and initiatives in order to support our zero-accident culture.

MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Typically reports to Management.  Direct supervisor job title(s) typically include: Supplier Quality Engineer
  • Job isNOT directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management).   

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated ability to use equipment and tools typically used in the inspection process such as calipers, gage blocks, gate pins, and optical comparators.
  • PC skills, including training and knowledge in applicable software packages, including SAP and desktop applications.
  • Ability to work under tight time deadlines with frequently changing priorities.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to use standard and unique problem-solving techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 – 3 years experience in a relevant Jabil position OR equivalent external work experience which should include Receiving Inspection.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
