We are looking for an experienced Materials Manager to lead our Materials and Supply Chain organization in Osijek.
Materials Manager
Location: 100% onsite base in Osijek, Croatia
As the Materials Manager, you will lead all aspects of materials planning, procurement coordination, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, customs activities, and supply continuity. You will drive operational excellence across the supply chain while ensuring compliance with customer, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain & Materials Management
Lead the Materials organization, including planning, inventory management, warehousing, and logistics, ensuring material availability to support production and customer commitments.
Drive supply chain performance through effective planning, inventory optimisation, and risk mitigation strategies.
Monitor and improve key materials metrics, including inventory turns, forecast accuracy, shortages, on-time delivery, and inventory liability.
Develop and implement initiatives to reduce shortages, excess and obsolete inventory while supporting operational efficiency and business growth.
Customer & Business Partnership
Partner closely with customers and cross-functional teams to manage demand changes, mitigate supply chain risks, and support business growth.
Ensure compliance with customer, quality, and regulatory requirements, including ISO 13485, FDA regulations, and internal quality standards.
Support product traceability, inventory accuracy, data integrity, and audit readiness within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Inventory & Logistics Management
Ensure effective inventory planning and material availability to support production continuity while achieving inventory performance targets.
Drive cost reduction and operational excellence through inventory optimization, logistics improvements, supplier collaboration, and supply chain process enhancements.
Leadership & People Development
Lead, coach, and develop the Materials team through effective performance management, succession planning, and talent development.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and customer focus while establishing clear goals and performance expectations.
Continuous Improvement
Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives within the Materials organization.
Analyse performance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and service levels.
Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and supply chain capabilities.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, or a related discipline.
Minimum 7 years of experience in materials management, supply chain, planning, procurement, or logistics.
Minimum 3 years of leadership experience leading cross-functional supply chain or materials teams.
Experience within a regulated manufacturing environment such as medical devices, healthcare, pharmaceutical, aerospace, or automotive.
SAP experience.
Lean Six Sigma certification.
Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, inventory management, demand planning, and supply chain operations.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent English and Croatian
Preferred
- Experience supporting ISO 13485 and/or FDA-regulated manufacturing environments.
APICS/ASCM, CSCP, CPIM, or similar professional certification.
Experience managing international supply chains and customs processes.
