Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer III leads the Process Engineering department in operating with a high level of efficiency, integrity, and enthusiasm.
Shift 1: Mon - Thr, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Responsibilities
- Strives to achieve excellence in all activities and responsibilities.
- Serves as a creative and proactive contributor to the management team, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Directs Manufacturing Engineering Technicians on assigned lines, monitoring machine and line performance and providing guidance to optimize machine and process efficiency.
- Provides training to Manufacturing Engineering Technicians and Manufacturing Engineering Assistants on equipment maintenance and repair, machine programming and optimization, and part-data (PD) file creation.
- Collaborates with Line Supervisors, the Machine Support Manager, and Manufacturing Engineers to determine corrective actions needed to optimize machine efficiency, effectiveness, and yields. Creates, documents, and implements procedures that support operational excellence across the plant.
- Provides technical expertise and direction to Manufacturing Engineering Technicians and Machine Support Technicians regarding machine adjustments, repairs, and other maintenance activities as needed.
- Manages Manufacturing Engineering Technician coverage within assigned plants during absences due to vacation, illness, training, or other reasons, and may perform those duties when critical staffing needs arise.
- Assists Manufacturing Engineers in optimizing process performance, including IR reflow profiling, wave solder profiling, solder paste screen printing, tooling design and fabrication, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) recommendations.
- Ensures data integrity activities, including program and PD file backups, are completed regularly across all assigned production lines.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, electrical, or a related engineering field, with 3-5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Basic knowledge of assembly, testing, and material handling processes.
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a plus.
- Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to a variety of audiences.
- Proven ability to identify issues, analyze data, and develop effective solutions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Power BI preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including Windows-based systems and enterprise software tools.
- Ability to read, write, and understand basic technical instructions, correspondence, and visual aids.
- Solid mathematical skills, including working with fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, and basic data interpretation (e.g., graphs).
- Ability to follow instructions, use sound judgment, and manage routine tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
