The Quality Engineer II (QET II) at Jabil, Inc. plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of products and processes throughout their lifecycle. This position involves developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems to meet customer requirements and regulatory standards, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and driving defect prevention.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Develop, implement, and maintain quality plans, procedures, and documentation for new and existing products and processes.
* Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues, both internal and external.
* Participate in design reviews, process validations, and product launches to ensure quality considerations are integrated early in the development cycle.
* Perform statistical analysis of data to identify trends, measure process capability, and recommend improvements.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customers to resolve quality-related problems.
* Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with Jabil's quality management system, customer specifications, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949 as applicable).
* Monitor and analyze key quality metrics, preparing reports and presenting findings to management.
* Train and mentor junior quality personnel and production staff on quality principles and procedures.
* Support supplier quality initiatives, including supplier selection, qualification, and ongoing performance monitoring.
* Drive continuous improvement projects utilizing methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and 8D problem-solving.
Job Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing) or a related technical field.
* 3-5 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment, preferably electronics manufacturing services (EMS).
* Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949).
* Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), measurement system analysis (MSA), and other quality tools.
* Demonstrated experience with root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone diagrams).
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Experience with Minitab or similar statistical software is highly desirable.
* ASQ certifications (e.g., CQE, CSSBB) are a plus.
