How will you make an impact?

  • Jabil is seeking a Principal Product Test Engineer, Server & Rack to contribute to the continued growth of the Intelligent Infrastructure division through innovative customer-focused product solutions.

  • This role leads the technical direction of Advanced Compute Platform NPIs and manufacturing programs, balancing customer requirements, factory execution, and business objectives.

  • The position also requires close collaboration with customers, strategic suppliers, and cross-functional internal teams, including engineering, program management, manufacturing, test, and quality to ensure products meet Jabil’s performance, quality, and reliability standards.

Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes innovation and effective problem solving.

Customer Engagement

  • Engage with customers to understand requirements, challenges, and expectations.

  • Maintain comprehensive manufacturing documentation for server (L10) and rack (L11) test procedures, specifications, and infrastructure.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, manufacturing, and quality engineering, to ensure alignment on testing requirements and quality standards.

Continuous Learning

  • Stay current with emerging test technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices to maintain competitive and efficient manufacturing operations.

  • Define and collaborate on overall test infrastructure and application architectures to support scalable and robust manufacturing solutions.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Lead customer and Jabil operations teams in resolving complex product, process, and material issues using structured analytical approaches.

  • Collaborate with site operations and test leadership to execute root cause investigations and drive measurable improvements in FPY, test throughput, and repair yield.

  • Serve as the primary technical interface for customer product introductions and manufacturing performance across server and storage platforms.

  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge bases, mentor test and debug leads, and incorporate feedback to support daily operational excellence.

How will you get here? 

  • Experience across server, storage, networking, and GPU‑ and PCIe‑based accelerator architectures.

  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages, including:
  • Python
  • BASH
  • C/C++ experience preferred
  • Systems management experience with server platforms, including embedded remote management standards, interfaces, and applications

  • Broad technical expertise spanning product engineering, manufacturing processes, and advanced compute platforms

  • Strong execution and decision‑making capabilities, applying sound engineering judgment to align programs with customer and business objectives

  • Demonstrated success leading New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing programs from concept through production release

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams to achieve shared outcomes

  • Commitment to delivering products that meet stringent performance, quality, and reliability standards in world‑class manufacturing environments

  • Working knowledge of operating systems, drivers, firmware, and hardware architectures, including device interactions

  • Ability to apply combined software and hardware expertise to drive root cause analysis and deliver optimized solutions

  • Advanced proficiency with Linux operating systems, related applications, and script development

Working Schedule & Location:

  • This position is primarily an on-site role but may be afforded the flexibility of working in a hybrid capacity depending on business needs.

  • This position is located in Florence, KY

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Experience:  

  • 5-8 years’ experience in software manufacturing test development/sustaining with enterprise server, storage, or networking products.

  • Experience working in a multi-site and multi-cultural environments.

  • Proven ability to work within a fast-paced and highly ambiguous business environment.

  • Domestic and/or international travel, up to 10%, may be required.
