Job Description:

We areseekinga highly skilled and motivated Android BSP Engineer with deepexpertisein Android platform development, BSP customization, and system integration. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in embedded software/firmware development, Android HAL, and Android BSP, withstrongknowledge of Android camera, display, and media subsystems.

This role offers the opportunity to work with the latest Android versions (preferably Android 14 and beyond), contributing to the development and optimization of Android-based embedded platforms. You will work at the intersection of hardware and software, helping to integrate, customize, and enhance core Android platform components while solving complex system-level challenges.

You’llbe part of a cross-functional team developing andoptimizingAndroid-based platforms, collaborating closely with hardware and software engineers to deliver robust, scalable, and high-performance solutions.

Technical Requirements:

• 8+ years of professional experience inembedded software/firmware development.

• 2+ years of hands-on experience withAndroid BSPdevelopment, platform customization, and system integration.

• Hands-on experience withAndroid AOSPdevelopment.

• Strong understanding of recent Android versions, features, APIs, and changes (preferably Android 14 or later).

• Experience working withAndroid HALandAndroid subsystems, particularly Camera, Display, and Media.

• Strong understanding of Android platform architecture and interactions between BSP, HAL, Android subsystems, and hardware components.

• StrongproficiencyinC/C++development.

• Solid experience inEmbedded Linuxdevelopment, including power management, display drivers, and connectivity stacks such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

• Familiarity with Android development tools and workflows, includingADB,Fastboot, Repo, Git, Gerrit, and GitHub.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, independent working style.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience withscripting languageslike Bash or Python.

• Debugging and development experience within theAndroid Frameworklayer.

• Familiarity with theNDK toolchain, building native libraries and components.

• LinuxUser Spacedevelopment experience is a strong plus; LinuxKerneldevelopment experience is a bonus.

• Big plus is Treble experience

Responsibilities:

• Work with Android source code and build system: synchronize repositories, manage branches and patches, integrate third-party components, and resolve build issues and conflicts.

• Develop, customize, andmaintainAndroid BSP components, platform integrations, and system-level features for Android-based embedded devices.

• Modify and improve Android platform components according to project requirements, including customization for specific hardware and product needs.

• Develop, integrate, andmaintainAndroid HAL components and support Android subsystems, particularlycamera,display, and media.

• Collaborate with hardware teams to support platform bring-up, hardware integration, validation, and troubleshooting activities.

• Customize andmaintainLinux kernel and embedded platform components: configure Device Tree, integrate andmodifydrivers, and support hardware-specific functionality.

• Debug and diagnose software and hardware issues across Android BSP, HAL, camera, display, media, and Embedded Linux layers using logcat,dmesg, ADB, and other debugging tools.

• Analyze root causes, document solutions, and contribute to system stability, performance optimization, and overall platform reliability.
