Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated manufacturing systems at Jabil Inc. This role will be crucial in optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring high-quality output through the implementation of cutting-edge automation technologies.

Job Responsibilities:**

* Design, program, and implement Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems for new and existing production lines.
* Develop and integrate robotic systems, including programming, testing, and troubleshooting.
* Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for automation-related issues.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and quality, to identify automation opportunities and optimize manufacturing processes.
* Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems, including schematics, program logic, and operating procedures.
* Provide technical support and training to production and maintenance personnel on automation equipment and systems.
* Stay current with emerging automation technologies and recommend their application to improve operational efficiency and product quality.
* Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies in all automation activities.
* Participate in equipment installation, commissioning, and validation activities.

Job Qualifications:**

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in automation engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the plastics molding or medical device industry.
* Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMI development.
* Experience with industrial robotics (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, Universal Robots).
* Strong understanding of industrial control systems, sensors, actuators, and vision systems.
* Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex automation issues.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
